Kingdom Come (Which co-stars Milla Jovovich) has launched the official web site already though the film has hardly begun filming, yet they're taking everyone along for the ride. The site is quite honestly the first I've seen that includes updated information on the status of the film from day one (pre-production). However, I don't believe there has ever been a film web site that takes you along the film-making process in this manner(i.e. shoot schedules/ daily reports virtual tour of the set, detailed financial information, and even the current weather conditions on the set!) KINGDOM COME is written by Frank Cottrell Boyce and is based loosely on Thomas Hardy's 1886 novel 'The Mayor of Casterbridge'. It focuses on Dillon, a man whose spiritual and material ambitions are in conflict with each other.

It is 1849 and Dillon has made the gold rush trek to the snow-covered mountains of California seeking his fortune, with his wife Elena and child Hope. In a moment of drunken impulse, Dillon trades his wife and child for a bag of gold.

Twenty years later, and Dillon runs Kingdom Come, a thriving mining town in the mountains. Its survival rests on the railroad coming their way, and the arrival of the surveying team raises concern. Dillon's worries are just beginning though, as Elena and Hope arrive too, seeking him out.

It is a time of fading prosperity. The gold rush is drying up along with the hopes of thousands who travelled across the country to find their fortune. Towns appear and disappear in months and many are left on the streets with no idea what to do next.

THE CHARACTERS:

Daniel Dillon
Dillon is a prosperous businessman. He runs the town of Kingdom Come, a mining town set deep in the Californian mountains. He carries with him a self-destructive streak, awakened by the arrival of his wife and daughter, and heightened by his increasing attempts to persuade the railroad to pass by his town.

Hope Dillon
Hope accompanies her ill mother Elena on a journey to seek out Dillon, unaware of who he is, believing her father to be dead. She is na?ve and initially shocked by Kingdom Come, but soon befriends Lucetta. She is intrigued by Dillon, and overcome with worry about her mother.

Donald Dalglish
Dalglish is the head of the Pacific Coast Railroad’s Surveying Party and arrives in Kingdom Come to assess the route of the railroad. He has taken a shine to Hope, who hitched a ride with his team. He is a firm but caring man, and his loyalties are soon torn between Hope, and his job.

Elena Dillon
Elena has travelled to Kingdom Come with Hope and the survey team to seek out Dillon. She is ill but hides the full extent of her illness from Hope. Initially she hides away in the hotel but soon finds out how difficult it is to avoid Dillon.

Lucia

(Milla Jovovich)
Lucia is a beautiful woman of Portugese descent who runs the town’s saloon and brothel, and lives with Dillon. She has a strong voice and a will to match.

Bellanger
Bellanger is the foreman of the Pacific Coast Railroad. He is protective of Dalglish and guarded about the strict rules and atmosphere of Kingdom Come. He finds himself falling in love with Annie, but still the job comes first.

Sweetley
Sweetley is the Sheriff of Kingdom Come, and Dillon’s henchman. He is a strong authority figure in the town and works with determination and little compassion.
